The January 2020 Winter Term class catalog is posted below as a reference to what classes are typically offered at Gateway.

Block 1
Fridays 10:00am-10:50am
0-2: Nursery ($0)
3-4: Classroom Preschool ($3) Each class we will do a devotional activity, learn about an arctic animal and play learning games.
5-7: Cookies in the Kitchen ($5) Experience the fun of following some of my favorite recipes and making several kinds of delicious cookies to taste and share! *Class limited to 8 students
5-7: Winter Wonderland ($TBD) We will make winter themed crafts. Read winter themed books, might watch winter themed children's shows with parental consent on show, and maybe a few winter themed crafts/activities.
5-7: Story Time Crafts ($10) We will read a story and then make a craft that goes with the story we read.
6+: Jump Roping ($6) Learn fun jump roping tricks and put together a routine. (Could be performed on Presentation Night at student’s choice). Will practice speed roping and double Dutch.
7-10: Robots ($5) We will learn about robots, put some together and watch some interesting videos on how they are made and artificial intelligence. *Class limited to 12 students
8-11: Friendship ($0) Friendships-developing them, growing them, and maintaining them is part of life most every day! It honors God when we look at what skills friendship requires and then practice them. Grow more of who you are in Christ as we read picture books together and learn more about friendship and practice what it means to be a good friend.
11+: Newsletter Writing ($0) Learn the basics of newsletter writing, focusing on the who, what, where, when, and why of events happening at Gateway Christian Co-op. Students will create a newsletter(s) for the winter term. Students will interview teachers and students of various classes.
12+: Constitutional Quest ($0) Students will go on a fun-filled dash around three branches of American government. In this class, students will team up to play a game where they earn points for questions that teach all the Articles and Amendments in the U.S. Constitution.

3-4: Active Pre-K ($4) A time to wiggle- Fun through movement and play, with obstacle courses, classic games and fun!
5-7: Brain Games ($4) We'll be playing a variety of fun educational games that incorporate skills with numbers, letters, colors, and shapes.
5-7: Felt Crafting Time ($7) Come make some adorable felt food, creatures, and trinkets with me!
5+: Beyblade Physics ($7) Get ready to learn all about how your Beyblades are physics fun! We will learn how to apply the scientific process to understand how a Beyblade works. We will study about Newton's first law of motion, velocity, momentum, force, mass, and radius.
6+: Little Slime Makers ($8) Join us for a messy and fun slime class. We will make different slimes each week. Come and practice your measuring, mixing, and teamwork skills. Also we will briefly discuss the science behind the slime! *Class limited to 12 students
7+: The Armor of God ($10) In this class we will be learning about the Armor of God according to what Paul wrote in Ephesians 6:10-18. We will be creating and sculpting with our hands each piece of armor and discussing its significance in our walk with the Lord.
10+: Cook Your Way Through the USA ($15) Explore famous dishes from across the USA. *Class limited to 8 students
11+: Geography ($tbd) Exploring geography a continent at a time. We will work on maps, landforms, culture, and as much memorization as possible. Hoping that students will practice a little during the week using Lizard Point quizzes on-line, or your family's preferred method.
12+: Fallacy Detective, Part 2 ($19 one time fee for workbook) This is an easy book for learning to spot common errors in reasoning. *Fun to use - learn skills you can use right away. *Peanuts, Dilbert, and Calvin and Hobbes cartoons. *Lots of interaction and friendly discussions. *Fallacy Detective Game. *The $19 fee is for the book and is a one time cost, if you have this book your class fee is $0
